A 22-year-old teenager was killed when a mobile phone exploded while charging while he was sleeping on a mobile phone charging due to smoke in the city, police said.
NEW DELHI: A 22-year-old youth has been killed in a mobile phone explosion while charging. A mobile phone exploded while charging in Jagat Singhpur district of the Indian state of Odisha, killing 22-year-old Kana Pradhan. Police say Kanapardhan is from Ranpur village in Niagadh district. He was a laborer by profession and came on wages in connection with construction of Jagat Nath Temple.
Police said that the mobile phone exploded when Kana was sleeping on the mobile phone charging due to stopping work due to smog in the city. The exact timing of the mobile phone explosion has not been determined. The owner of the Jagat Nath Truck Association said that when I was notified of the accident by other laborers at 5am, I immediately arrived at the scene and called the police. SP Jagat Singhpur R Prakash says that the body of Pradhan has been sent for post-mortem and is awaiting report. Indian police have further stated that they have filed an FI for non-fatal death, but further action will be taken only after the doctor's report is received.
