Prime Minister's resignation or new election in 3 months, Fazlur Rehman's message to the government
Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Ali Amin Gandapur said he was ready to step down from his constituency to contest elections against Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
He challenged Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman and said that Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman should end his sit-in, apologize to the people and fight elections against me from my constituency and determine his popularity.
In response to this challenge, Asad Mehmood, the son of JUI-F leader and Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, said that he accepts the challenge.
At the same time, he said that if we have to contest elections on one seat, we will fight on one, we will fight all over the country, then we will fight all over the country.
"We are in agreement with the agreement we have made, our constitution allows us to protest this and we are recording our protest within the purview of the constitution and law," he said.
It is to be noted that in the general elections of July 25, 2018, Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate Ali Amin Gundapur from the National Assembly constituency 38 (Dera Ismail Khan One) won with 81,32 votes while the Jamaat-e-Ulema-e-Islam was elected from that constituency. Maulana Fazlur Rehman was defeated and he could get 45,796 votes.
